Enviro Cover is an alternative daily cover material for covering the working face at the end of each work day. It meets US Environmental Protection Agency’s requirement on controlling disease vectors, odors, fires, blowing litter and scavenging without presenting a threat to human health or the environment.
Enviro Cover is engineered with good tear strength, puncture resistance and elongation characteristics and stretches over uneven surfaces of the working face. It does not require removal and provides continuous coverage until the next day’s waste is deposited on top.
Key Features
Disease Vector Control – Enviro Cover panels completely cover the waste, minimizing access to insects, birds, vermin and other animals.
Fire Control – While the film is combustible, it is not flammable. Enviro Cover provides an impermeable barrier to limit the transfer of air (oxygen) into the waste.
Blowing Litter Control – Enviro Cover completely contains the waste, preventing the litter from being picked up by wind after the cover is applied.
Odor Control – The impermeable nature of the film effectively controls odors and other gaseous emissions.
Dust Control – Materials prone to dusting are contained by the panels.
Water Infiltration Control – Enviro Cover effectively sheds rainwater away from the working face and water infiltration into the landfill is substantially reduced.
Leachate and Gas Management – Enviro Cover film is mechanically destroyed by subsequent placement of waste. The destroyed film will not impede the movement of leachate and gas.
Aesthetic – Enviro Cover provides an aesthetically pleasing barrier between the waste and the surrounding environment.
